Fernwood Parish Council is delighted announce that the council finally took ownership of the woodland behind Fernwood Day Nursery this week.

Over the coming weeks and months, the council will be getting the area tidied up whilst being careful to look after the wildlife. We will be getting bins installed, fixing lights and beginning grounds maintenance in the area to look after it.

After the Platinum Jubilee event that is currently taking much of our time, we will look to start organising a community group, so we can work with volunteers to look after the area. Many months ago when we first consulted Fernwood residents on this area, we asked for details of people who were interested in getting involved with an action group for area – we will be getting in touch with everyone who said yes and anyone else who would like to get involved - to register your interest please email [email protected]

It has been a very long time since we first answered questions raised regarding the Parish Council buying this area. The link below contains answers to the questions raised then. We will update our website soon but we wanted to let you know now that this is finally in the hands of the Parish Council so we can care for the area. If you have any questions that aren’t answered in the link below, please email them to [email protected] https://www.fernwood-pc.co.uk/shared/attachments.asp?f=06175fb2%2D1d3c%2D4559%2Db1d7%2D1d653dbe3d47%2Epdf&o=2021%2D01%2D20%2DConsulatation%2Dquestions%2Dresponses%2Epdf
